Each month, Litmus Gallery & Studios offers local artists the opportunity to exhibit their work for a full month in our gallery. We also have juried shows with multiple artists on an ongoing basis. All exhibits at Litmus can be viewed as part of downtown Raleigh’s First Friday ArtWalk, from 6pm to 9pm on the first Friday of each month.
CALL FOR ART
Transitivity - February 2-21 2018
First Friday reception, February 2, 6:00pm-9:00pm
OK, you rebel artists listen up! Are you tired of seeing that soulless, generic, nonart that frequently attempts to class up the walls of businesses and even some homes! It is Crazy that it happens when there is so much original art available. You are invited to participate in a radical statement making art exhibit. For this exhibit artists will transform a generic reproduction or mass produced nonart into an original, one of a kind work of art. This is a non- juried exhibit.
This exhibition is a non-juried exhibition to showcase outstanding original visual art that is priced at $99 and under and appropriate for the gift giving season. It is open to both professional and emerging artists who are 18 years or older using any visual media. Artists may submit 2-D and 3-D art, up to three (3) works . All works of art must be for sale. The exhibit will open Sunday December 10, 11:00am to 3:00pm and there will also be a reception on First Friday January 5, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Artwork will be on view through Jan 25th.
Resident Litmus Artists Jayne Walther and Leatha Koefler created the DOWNLOAD exhibit. The exhibit is an ongoing collaborative exploration that playfully examines the connectedness of humanity and technology. For further information visit www.downloadexhibit.com.
