Kerri, who has lived in several states in Midwest, New England, and the South, moved to North Carolina in 1993. Although
involved in both music and visual art, she decided to focus on the visual arts, earning a BA in fine arts (painting, drawing,
and photography) from Mount Olive College, in 1999, and an MFA in studio art (painting) from East Carolina University in 2005.
Kerri’s paintings
and drawings incorporate intense colors, often mixed with dramatic lights and darks. Influences include Sandro Botticelli,
Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Tintoretto, Pieter Brueghel, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali,
and David Hockney.
The artist has exhibited in numerous juried exhibitions, as well as solo
shows in the Eastern North Carolina region. Recognition includes a first place award at the Visual Art Exchange’s Over
and Under exhibition.
